Abdullahi Saliu Ishola
Education: University of Ilorin, Ilorin LL.B (Hons) 2005 (2nd Class, Upper Division); Government Secondary School, Ilorin (1998); Olaoti Islamiyyah Arabic College, Ilorin (1996); Okelele Primary School, Ilorin (1992).
Background: Mr Ishola was called to the Nigerian Bar as
Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria in May, 2007 with 2nd Class (Lower Division).
He observed the one-year compulsory National Youth Service Corps programme between March 2007 – February 2008 as a Legal Officer at the first private University of Technology in Nigeria, Bells University of Technology, Ota. He joined the Firm of Messrs Yusuf O. Ali & Co. in April, 2007. He is particularly interested in Comparative Law, Litigations and Family Matters.
Publications: He is an astute researcher and a prolific writer and has up to 15 publications in learned and widely circulated journals. His paper, entitled “Necessaries for Validity of Marriage under the Shariah: Abuse and Compliance in Nigeria” was presented at the International Family Law Conference organised by the Islamic Law Dept; International Islamic Law University, Kuala Lumpur held between January 16 – 18, 2007.
Awards: Senate Best Graduating Student from Islamic Law Department and Public Law Department, University of Ilorin for 2005 graduating year.
